About WPA

The World Permaculture Association is a not-for-profit organization whose MISSION is to mobilize and inspire people working towards improving & increasing ecosystem function globally through the application of Permaculture principles.

Vision: A food garden in every heart.

Key to Permaculture is the design of functional agro-ecosystems: patterns and relationships between species that occur in the wild are applied in the designed ecosystem.

Agroecology is the study of ecological processes that operate in agricultural production systems.

- Care of earth: Provision for all life systems to continue and multiply;
- Care of people: Provision for people to access those resources necessary to their existence;
- Fair share of the Surplus: To save resources to re-invest in the care of earth and of people.

The only ethical decision is to take responsibility for our own existence and that of our children. Make it now!

Introduction to Permaculture
The Introduction to Permaculture Course is an ideal starter for anyone interested in a full Permaculture Design Course. This  course will cover the history, various definitions, design process, ethics, principles and case studies from a range of applications. It provides you with practical strategies to better care and provide  for yourself, your family and the planet. The course teach you effective ways of growing healthy, organic food, regenerative farming that can both feed a family, earn an income and build soil fertility, retrofitting techniques for existing houses or property resulting in lower energy costs and better health for its inhabitants.

Permaculture Design Certificate Course
Designed personally by Bill Mollison, the co-founder of Permaculture, the Permaculture Design Course (PDC) gives you both the vision and the practical tools you will need to realize your own piece of paradise, completely independent in terms of food and energy production. Based on the best project planning practices, the PDC teaches you how to imitate natural systems, produce abundant food and energy, design and build energy-efficient homes, collect and use rainwater, create fertile soils, improve animal welfare while maximizing their production and develop economic as well as legal structures that will create a society based on a new farming culture with a strong sense of solidarity.

Advanced Permaculture and Ecosystem Design Course
This is an Advanced Permaculture and Ecosystem Design course!
You do not have to have a degree in landscape architecture, or a  Permaculture Design Course, but we do expect you to work on this kind of  professional level during the course.
Everyone can step up  from any technological level, or from any kind of knowledge about plants  or permaculture, but must be willing to step up.

Regenerative and Biodynamic Agriculture
The Regenerative and Biodynamic Agriculture course teaches how to improve natural resources rather than their destruction or depletion. You will learn the holistic systems approach to agriculture which encourages continual on-farm innovation for environmental, social, economic and spiritual well being. The Regenerative and Biodynamic Agriculture course approach is based on the most effective agronomic techniques that dramatically improve most farming and ranching operations as well as profit margins: Holistic Decision Making, Permaculture, The Soil Food Web, No-till Crop, Keyline Subsoiling, Biodynamic Preparations and Composting.

Permamindfulness® provides a path for those who are interested in various levels of Permaculture and meditative practice, and those who are also interested in becoming trainers of Permamindfulness®. Permamindfulness®, through theoretical and practical lessons, leads to the experiential understanding of human nature and the full realization of the vision, ethics and principles of Permaculture. In Permamindfulness®, mindfulness is applied to the vision, ethics and principles of Permaculture: the aim is to develop the resources for a balanced mind, important in any Permaculture project just as it is important in any assessment of biophysical and existing material conditions.
