Permaculture Laboratory Network (PLN) is the network of education and demonstration centers, where permaculture is practiced and spread.

Requirements to becoming a WPA Permaculture Laboratory

  • to manage a legal entity;to choose together with WPA team the name of the Laboratory, according to the bio-region, the climate and the activities you want to implement;
  • to use properly the logo that WPA create for your Laboratory;
  • to donate 10,00 euros per month as a contribution to WPA;
  • to agree the Laboratory improvement strategy with WPA;
  • to run at least one of the following activities:

Introduction to Permaculture Seminar - 4/8 hours (The seminar provides the conceptual framework for the ethical and practical design principles which shape and permaculture).


Permaculture Design Course accredited by PRI of Australia- 72 hours  (The course is based on the text written by Bill Mollison "Permaculture: A Designer's Manual" and it is about the design of agro-ecosystems in a variety of landscapes and climates).


School-work projects (In the school-work projects students from public schools are involved in learning by doing processes, in working environment where permaculture principles are in place).

Internships (Internships are a sort of immersion in the functioning of a Laboratory, where learners are involved in the daily management activities, including the practical works).

Volunteering and WWOOFing (WWOOF is a worldwide movement that brings together volunteers and organic agriculture projects promoting cultural exchange experiences).


Education activities can be undertaken in cooperation with the International Association of students in Agricultural and related Sciences (IAAS), association existing in over 40 countries.
